1) Who is Daniela Giorgino? What to do in life and what are your dreams?
First of all thank you for having me in her interesting blog ! Daniela is a Salentine who just turned 33 years . Born in Casarano in province of Lecce but almost entirely transplanted to Ugento the last twelve years. I could say that at least one of the dream came true today as I work full time and not just as hobbye but as work, Accessories and Bijoux hand painted.
2) What was your journey before arriving at HANUL? (studies)
After Classical High School, I was very torn about university choice because as always happens, at that age, 19 years is difficult to put together many points and try to grant them: the family, the distance, the job opportunities, friends ... I originally decided for the Academy of Fine Arts, but many dissuaded me for the few working feedback. So the choice was fought for Jurisprudence that even gave me a lot of satisfaction at the level meritocratic did me so much pain because I felt to walk on a road that was not mine. Anxiety and panic attacks have shaken to me like a vortex and perhaps alone and without these symptoms I would never be able to understand my own true needs. So I dropped out of school just three exams from the end with degree application just registered and I throw myself literally like an endless vortex in this wonderful experience!
3) HANUL, a brand of handbags, accessories and jewelry hand-painted, when and how does begins the production process?
Drawing has always, since I was a child and kindergarten teachers took me from classroom to classroom to decorate the windows during the holiday. Embarked on the path of the Classics I forgot and put aside visual art dedicating myself to the passionate study of philosophy , epic, classical literature and Latin. Materials that I love and that I would do for another 1000 lives! Maybe this time by inserting painting too!
4) Does she frequesnt training courses related to her field?
I am proud to say that I do not frequent courses in painting and that all that I realized I did following my instincts and my stubbornness. I do not deny, however, that I would have loved frequent the Academy not to learn to paint, because what you know do or do not know. (Many who frequent art schools have never picked up a brush and do not even know what is the acrylic. And that makes me very sad)
But for read the HISTORY of the great artists. I'm providing in this to me anyway by buying manuals when I have just a little 'free time
5) What techniques have been tried and what you prefer?
At first I devoted myself to painting tiles and trays, glass lamps and decoration of mobiles preferring technique SHABBY CHIC, which provides for the antique finish wood and the effect decapé. Subsequently, and in particular in 2010 I experienced the painting on jewelry and accessories, and since then I did not stop more. My interest is thus better addressed today in this part of the art that is painting on Bags and bijoux in wood.
6) Where does she find inspiration for her creations? Believes you have developed a personal style?
My inspiration comes from long walks to the beach with my dog Nana and immediately I write down two drawings that I perfect but as I paint directly on supports. I think everyone has his own style even in the execution of paintings of famous authors. If they were in fact all the same this will not a painter but a photocopier. There are also designs more cared than others, but the people are well prepared and above all has the taste and intelligence to describe and distinguish a job well done by a work fast and hurt. However, it is always a question of taste even in this field.
7) What is your favorite painting which was inspired for a creation?
I love the contemporaries Impressionists , many of them in life and I love the paintings of Leonid Afremov, Vladimir Volegov and especially adore the paintings by four hands of Mickael and Inessa Garmash . Do not I forget the nocturnal dance halls with the sensual dancers of Fabian Perez. If I have to go a bit 'more back surely also Gustave Klimt ... absolutely essential! Then I love especially the gold and he is absolutely magnificent in this style: The Golden Liberty.
8) What is your favorite bag? The one you like the least?
My favorite bag is MY SWEET ROSES of William Waterhouse, surely one of my personal taste while the one I like less because less requests is The URLO,..in reality is a painting very full of meaning and portrays Munch in the throes of a crisis panic. I can understand him in full .. :)
9) How long does it take to make a bag?
There is not a duration, ranging from one day to one week.
10) What are the materials used?
For leather accessories using special colors, acrylic skins and leather precisely. Very elastic and bright and above all permanent.
11) What is your thought on MADE IN ITALY and crafts?
I think that going around in our country and not see many handicrafts exposed is very sad. Are sold the usual photocopying and there is no taste by shopkeepers who always try to to conform to what sells the "near" perhaps at lower prices. I think we should have the courage to dare and to give voice to the many Italian artists, unknown and who want to make themselves known. The customer is not stupid and is ready indeed looking for particular products and unique!
12) What was her first creation?
My first creation has nothing to do with the painting, but it is a lamp made with pieces of recycling found in a flea market.
13) What are your future plans?
Many, always in the field of accessories and jewelry hand-painted. But maybe there will be another interview that will talk about this and will update surely.
14) What is the theme of the new collection?
The next collection is top secret but will definitely be very colorful as you would expect from HANUL ..
